Squabs – NYC
Introduction
Squabs is an uplifting animated series that provides an encouraging message we all need to hear. In this day and age where youths are increasingly insecure about themselves, Squabs aims to encourage youth, spread positivity, and convey the message that it is okay to be themselves.
Objectives
The main objective of the project was to create a beautiful site that embodies Squabs theme of vibrant graffiti-like imagery.
Process
The emphasis was to create a site that was both beautiful and fast. Database interaction was almost zero, so we decided to create a static website with the React framework Next.js.
Research
We took a look at the sites of other various animated series. Comic books were also a source for our design inspiration.
Designs
We had to stay true to the series’ graffiti theme and vibrant colors for the design. The client also wanted us to create an animated banner video for the site.
